  22. A Smart Port is a little device that you plug in to both 9 pin connectors on 
  23. the back of your Amiga (any model). It provides pass-throughs for the mouse
  24. and digital joystick port, and also provides you with a 15 pin analog port.
  25.  
  26. Port switching is hot, you just click the button of the device you want to use
  27. and it is activated.

  29. The 15 pin port can be split in to two with a Y connector, for two analog sticks
  30. or two analog sticks and rudders, or 1 analog stick and rudders. I used to 
  31. play Gunship 2000 with analog cyclic, analog collective, and analog rudder
  32. pedals all the time.

  34. IDD has released NUMEROUS patches to games to allow you to use analog joysticks
  35. with them.

  37. The analog support is a VERY SMOOTH response through the entire range (0-255).

  40. SmartPorts sold for $50 when they were new. I do not know if IDD still makes them.
  41. They are concentrating on a racing wheel/pedal setup for PCs now.
